Town of Black Mountain

Known as the front porch of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Black Mountain is just 15 miles east of Asheville, NC.

With a population of roughly 9,000, it has been ranked 8th by Oprah Magazine's “Top 60 Charming American Towns You Should Visit” and Country Living’s “30 Small Towns You Should Visit This Summer”. Boasting spectacular mountain views, Trip Advisor recently voted it as the Winner of the “Prettiest Small Towns in America” contest.

Black Mountain and the Swannanoa Valley are rich in arts, crafts, and music. It is currently home to over 200 businesses, including restaurants, bed and breakfasts, specialty shops, and breweries.

The surrounding mountains offer stellar walking, hiking, and biking trails, greenways, camping, trout fishing, lakes, and nearby waterfalls. The valley is home to six major conference centers, two colleges, and nationally-recognized summer camps.
